The reference to putting on our show? I was a member of the HELENA review as a singer.

Enroute ????
8:30 P.M.

Dear Dad and Bernie,

About time I wrote again. Formosa liberty was fair. The Air Force had a nice club there. Since drinks were only $.30 apiece to start with, and free after we put our show on - - I got drunk!!

I was broke and it rainned anyway while we were in Manila so I stayed on board. We left Manila at 7:30 AM yesterday (Nov.1) and at 11 AM we were in Subic Bay for 6 hours.

It was there, in Subic Bay, that I went on 16mm movie film for a short Xmas interview. This interview will be sent to Green Bay around Xmas, and after its showing will be sent to you.

The fellow who interviewed me, said you would be notified just when it will be shown. SO watch T.V. for the star of tomorrow Ha Ha

Around noon today, when we were about half way to Hong Kong the ship suddenly changed course for Formosa again. At the present time everyone worried and wondered where we are headed, I heard some guy say that the invasion of Quemoy had started and we were to stop it - if possible.

What ever it is, we are completly in the dark so far. And me with 7 months to do - darn - I'm beginning to see how guys felt, who were in the service back in 1941 and 1942.

I guess there really isn't much else to write about now. I'll write when something new happens.

By now,
Dave
