This year will be a busy one at the polls with the spring primary already right around the corner.

The village would like to remind you that Wisconsin recently enacted a voter ID law, so be prepared
to present a photo ID the next time you vote. For more information, see the Local Government section
of mishicot.org or visit bringit.wisconsin.gov.

As a result of an overwhelming number of donations, the Mishicot Village Hall will no longer be directly
accepting additional books for the six Little Libraries in town. Future donations are to be deposited
directly into the libraries by the donors if room is available — books should never be left outside of the
libraries themselves — or an arrangement should be made by calling 920-973-4577. The Village Board
thanks everyone for their support of the Little Libraries, as well as the Mishicot Lions for their continued
help.

Feb. 7, the Two Rivers Mishicot Ecumenical Pantry will participate in the nationwide Souper Bowl of
Caring event. This annual collection helps keep the pantry’s shelves stocked. To participate, bring
canned soup or monetary donations to your church on the day of the event.

Mishicot Middle School eighth-graders recently hosted a mini simple machines fair for the third-grade
students of O.H. Schultz Elementary School. The middle-schoolers were challenged to create Rube
Goldberg machines purposefully over-engineered devices used to perform simple tasks which they
demonstrated and displayed. The third-grade students had the opportunity to learn about the six
simple machines and how they work.

A $500 donation given to The Mishicot Middle School Parent Backer Group from The Francis Creek
Fellowship Organization will help support the school’s Snack Pack Program. Snack Packs are weekly
kits offered to families in need, which contain a variety of healthy foods and supplies to enhance student
learning. Students in need also are given access to a clothing and personal supply closet in which they
may shop for items they need. The Middle School Parent Group thanks the members of the Francis Creek
Fellowship Organization for their continued support of the Snack Pack Program.

If you or someone you know 55 or older is interested in a unique opportunity to volunteer in the community,
the United Way of Manitowoc County’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program is seeking new candidates to
work at O.H. Schultz Elementary School in Mishicot. Multiple volunteer opportunities are available across
different grade levels. For more details, call 920-755-3155.

The Mishicot Seniors invite community members to join them for sheepshead cards at the Mishicot VFW
Hall. The games are held Mondays 1-3 p.m. For more details, call 920-755-4118.

Also at the VFW Hall, the Mishicot Senior Nutrition site menu for the week of Jan. 25 is: Monday,
marvelous meatloaf, potatoes, wax beans, slice of bread, dessert; Wednesday, homemade lasagna,
peas, chilled plums, jello; Friday, cream of broccoli soup, egg salad sandwich, mixed fruit, chocolate
chip cookie.
