Several Mishicot High School musicians performed in concert Jan. 7 at the Capitol Civic Center
in Manitowoc.

The Big East Conference Honors Choir included Mishicot students Kaitlynn Pietenpol-Prueter,
Jill Finnel, Cassie Boehnlein, Landon Schlies, Ryan Boehnlein, Isaac Benfield and Jacob Ross.
Members of the band from Mishicot were Colton Wernecke, Benfield, Finnel, Claire Levanetz,
Ashely Tuschel and Bryce Tesarik. Congratulations to these young musicians and the Mishicot
Schools Music Department on a successful evening.

The Mishicot School District FFA chapter is also being recognized through the work of Savannah
Siders, an eighth-grader at Mishicot Middle School who was recently awarded one of 29 statewide
grants from the Wisconsin FFA. She will use the funds from this start-up grant to create a
greenhouse at her home to raise vegetables while learning more about the fields of horticulture
and agribusiness.

These Supervised Agricultural Experience grants enable students to build businesses
and career skills by applying concepts learned in the classroom to real-world work experiences.
To apply for an SAE grant, students were required to complete a detailed application outlining
their funding requirements, project details and future goals with their SAE and the school’s
FFA chapter. Start-up grants were provided by Satori Company and ST Paper LLC.
Congratulations, Savannah.
